All About Ashley and Askew Studio

Being in touch with the human side of life is what drives me to create.  Knowing that life and art are far from perfect, but askew and beautiful in their imperfections.  Art and life are all about the journey, and not necessarily the destination. Through representations of objects and events, people and places that we come into contact with during our simple, everyday activities, Askew Studio designs are brought to life.  

I am a resident of Apex, North Carolina and a graduate of Meredith College with a B.A. in Art and K-12 Art Education Certification.  I grew up in the small town of Clinton, North Carolina and have spent my life as a proud N.C. native. 

When I am not creating, I am teaching art classes in my in-home studio

spending time at the beach or in the mountains with my husband and three sons.  

If asked what my favorite medium is, I would admit that I could never choose just one  - I love them all and consider myself a "dabbler" but I have a passion for printmaking, painting, clay and glasswork.
